A girl with the power to manipulate memories. She seems to have some strong connection with Sora. -Jiminy's Journal

Her Story

A mysterious, timid, young girl, Naminé was first introduced in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. Despite her lack of elemental powers, she possesses a special abililty where she can manipulate Sora's memories. Naminé is a special Nobody that was born when Kairi's heart left Sora's body back in Kingdom Hearts. She also mentions that she is nothing more but Kairi's shadow and that is why she replaces herself with Kairi in Sora's memories.

Naminé draws constantly and apparently how she alters memories. She was under the custody of Organization XIII in Castle Oblivion which was led by Marluxia. Her job was to rearrange Sora's memories upon entering the castle. Sora then "remembers" Naminé as his childhood friend instead of Kairi.

Naminé's lonliness grew and even felt jealous when she finds out that Kairi has someone who cares deeply for her. She even removed Kairi, from Sora's memories and also Riku Replica's memories from Vexen's request. She almost completed the process, only to be manipulated by Axel that she should betray Marluxia. Naminé then saves Sora from completely forgetting Kairi and reveals herself to him.

As soon as she met up with Sora, she gained more faith, became less afraid and acts on what she knows is right. She decided to not listen to Organization XIII and helps out Sora. Naminé only wishes to right her wrongs and promises to restore his memories after defeating Marluxia.

Sora mentions that he still wishes to protect her and defeats Marluxia. Before she brings Sora's memories back, she tells him that she'll be erased from his memories. Sora then begins recalling Kairi and the rest of his friends. Even though he'll forget Naminé he promises her that she'll still be in his heart and will find her again.

Naminé appears again in the sequel, Kingdom Hearts II. She plays a smaller role and she makes her appearance in the prologue where she reveals herself to Roxas on the third day. This was against DiZ's will but she continues anyway. She told Roxas that she wanted to meet him at least once and disappears, leaving a curious Roxas to follow behind her. Roxas was then transfered to another dimension and fights Nobodies. Before the darkness could consume him, Naminé reaches for his hand and saves him. They then appear in a white room and Naminé finally introduces herself.

On the fifth day, Pence tells Roxas that there is a girl who lives in the Haunted Mansion (Twilight Mansion). Roxas observes the second floor window and falls into a trance. At the white room again, Roxas sees drawings of Sora and his journey. Naminé appears again and she tells him the truth that they are Nobodies that were never meant to exist. Roxas became angry and Naminé apologizes and brings him back to Pence.

The sixth day came and Roxas runs back to the mansion because he finds out that he can't even communicate with his friends. He meets Naminé once more. She tells him that Sora need his help to be whole; also saying that they won't disappear but only be whole with their true selves. DiZ takes her away for revealing too much information, but Roxas and Naminé make a promise that they'll meet again even though they will not recognize each other.

Naminé appears again when she came to rescue Kairi and Pluto from imprisonment in The World That Never Was. Before the final battle she appears once more to aid Sora and his friends. Fulfilling their promise, she tells Roxas that not all Nobodies are to fade into the darkness. They'll be whole and live on through Sora and Kairi. Naminé then gives up her existence and fuses with Kairi to complete her and Roxas does the same and fuses with Sora. In the ending FMV, when Sora returns to Destiny Islands, Roxas and Naminé both smile at each other through their counterparts.
